Enkima Firepit
Enkima is the Maa word for hearth — and at Amboseli Safari Club, it earns that name every evening. By day it’s a scenic lounge, with zebras that cross just beyond. When the sun drops behind the plains and the air turns cool, the flames take over.
Daytime Sanctuary of Peace
When the camp stirs back from the morning drive, Enkima offers something quieter. A lounge open to the bush, unhurried and cool — somewhere to sit with a coffee, a book, or nothing at all, as zebras wander through the surrounding landscape. A gentle pause before the day decides what it wants to be.
A Night Under the Stars
As the sun goes down and the air shifts, the firepit is lit and Enkima becomes something else entirely. Sundowners in hand and the day’s sightings still fresh, the evening takes shape around the flames. On select nights, a bush dinner is laid out under the open sky, and our Maasai hosts share the stories and folklore that have been told around fires like this one for generations.
